At re:Invent 2018, several new services were announced, including AWS Cloud Map, which allows AWS users to discover resources and services in AWS environments. This makes service discovery much more seamless in AWS, but with the addition of day-one Consul support, organizations can also use Consul to more easily discover and catalog services in AWS and unify those services in one Consul registry that also calalogs services from private, on-premises infrastructure.

AWS Cloud Map integration also brings several new AWS resource filtering capabilities to Consul with this integration. Watch HashiCorp co-founder and CTO Mitchell Hashimoto demo these capabilities along with the Consul integration.
