Attendees can take a HashiCorp Cloud Engineer Certification exam for free with their in-person ticket. This is a unique opportunity to take your certification exam at a live, in-person testing event without the exam fee.
Attendees can choose from any HashiCorp certification, including our Professional-level exams.
- How it worksDecide which exam you want to take, then pick the best day and time. Exam time slots will be available starting on Day 0 of the conference so you can make the most of your schedule.
- Show off your certificationIf you earn your certification during the conference, you’ll receive a badge, certificate, and a special “HashiCorp Certified” sticker to brag about your skills.

Associate Exams
Associate-level exams validate your basic skills in HashiCorp products. All Associate exams are one hour and multiple choice.
Terraform Associate exam
The Terraform Associate certification is for cloud engineers specializing in operations, IT, or development who know the basic concepts and skills associated with Terraform Community. This includes understanding which enterprise features exist and what can and cannot be done using the community offering.
Vault Associate exam
The Vault Associate certification is for cloud engineers specializing in security, development, or operations who know the basic concepts, skills, and use cases associated with Vault Community. This includes understanding what enterprise features exist and what can and cannot be done using the community offering.
Consul Associate exam
Our newest Associate-level exam — Consul Associate 003 — is now available at HashiConf!
The Consul Associate certification is for site reliability engineers, solutions architects, DevOps professionals, and other cloud engineers who know the basic concepts and skills to build, secure, and maintain Consul Community. This includes understanding what enterprise features exist and what can and cannot be done using the community offering.
Professional exams
Professional-level exams validate your specialized skills in HashiCorp products through hands-on assessments. The Pro exam is four hours long and is a lab-based exam. Professional exams will only be available on HashiConf Day 0 - Monday, October 14.
Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional exam
The much-anticipated Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional exam is now live. Take our newest exam for free with your HashiConf pass.
This is a lab-based exam for Cloud Engineers focused on developing Terraform configuration and using it to manage infrastructure over time. You are well-qualified to take this exam if you hold the Terraform Associate Certification (or equivalent knowledge), have extensive production experience with Terraform Community Edition, Terraform Enterprise, or HCP Terraform, develop modules and organization standards to enable other users, and use Terraform to manage your own infrastructure resources, as well as enable others with varying levels of Terraform expertise to use Terraform effectively.
Vault Operations Professional exam
The Vault Operations Professional exam is a lab-based exam for cloud engineers focused on deploying, configuring, managing, and monitoring Vault. You’re well-qualified to take this exam if you hold the Vault Associate certification (or equivalent knowledge), have experience operating Vault in production, and can evaluate Vault Enterprise functionality and use cases.
