Rapid Infrastructure: Terraforming Your Datacenter

Many organizations don't have the luxury of being able to convert 100% to cloud infrastructure. There are a lot of companies with hybrid environments using both public cloud and on-prem datacenters. Using that on-prem infrastructure often involves slow, ticket-based processes, which is fine if some things take a few days or a week, but many risk-prone tasks can take much longer.

The answer at HashiCorp is Terraform. But when many operations engineers think of Terraform, they think of the efficiency it brings to public cloud provisioning. But in this talk, HashiCorp systems engineer Grant Orchard argues that many of the integrations and efficiency that Terraform brings to cloud infrastructure can also be taken into the on-prem datacenter.
