IaC self service and the people in between
As an experienced cloud engineer the last thing I want to be doing is creating resources for different teams, I’d rather have them create the resources themselves and own those resources. So how do we ensure we satisfy all the people that are involved in the IaC process. One of the biggest issues that I see is that engineers always try to satisfy the end user but there are other parties involved in self service, like managers, change management, security and risk, with the following 5 key areas you can insure that you can create a self service model that will keep all parties happy in your organisation. - Self service - Testing and assurance - Governance - Security - Drift detection
